Bangladesh Co-operative Academy
Bangladesh Cooperative Academy (BCA) is the only national-level training academy of the Department of Cooperatives (DOC). The Department of Cooperatives (DOC) is an attached department of the Rural Development and Cooperatives Division under the Ministry of LGRD and Cooperatives.It is located at Kotbari about 10 kilometers away from the southwest of Comilla town and on the same campus as Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD). Kotbari is a place of historical importance.
It is here that Shalban Bihar – a famous Buddhist Center of learning thrived around the 8th century A.D. After about eleven to twelve hundred years, the place has again become a center of learning and teaching of knowledge.
So it is true that the Bangladesh Cooperative Academy is here at Kotbari- a place steeped in historical tradition, as a center of learning. BCA is imparting its services to the cooperative sector since 1960.
