Bangladesh Crop Protection Association

Bangladesh Crop Protection Association is the representative organization of the business enterprises who are involved in Import/Formulation /Marketing of Plant Protection Chemicals. Bangladesh Crop Protection Association (BCPA) is a non-profit business organization established in 1976 and recognized by Ministry of Commerce and registered with the Registrar, Joint Stock Companies & Firms in the year of 1979. BCPA is a membership organization, and has presence all over the country through it divisional chapters. BCPA governs by elected Executive Committee consist of 12 members. BCPA has the mandate to organize members, negotiate with the Government and its various Agencies as well as with private and international development organizations.

The vision of BCPA is to safeguard the interest and developing the plant protection chemical business in the country complying the local and international rules and regulations for achieving food security livelihood through protecting the environmental pollution and reducing the health hazard.

BCPA as a representative of pesticide industry negotiate with different ministry of Bangladesh. Government has made BCPA membership compulsory for any pesticide company for better monitoring of their performance. BCPA is dignitary of Pesticide Technical Advisory Committee (PTAC) of DAE, which is an apex committee for pesticide rules and regulation of Bangladesh. BCPA is enrolled as 'A' class association of Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI). BCPA as a member of CropLife Asia (CLA) implement responsible use of pesticide program and anti-counterfeiting of pesticides program throughout the country. Many partners working together to advance BCPA`s farmer outreach included the Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE), Katalyst/Swisscontact, USAID, GMark and SEBA Limited.
