City Bank, established in 1983, is a first generation private commercial bank in Bangladesh. City Bank is considered as one of the best banks in terms of adopting global best practices by doing away with age-old traditional decentralized banking practices and culture. The bank, with 3500+ employees, is the best example of “bank transformation” this country has seen so far. Previously it used to follow traditional and orthodox banking methods, but the bank has undergone massive restructuring in 2007 and has implemented centralized business model, serving its customers through four distinct business divisions namely Corporate & Investment Banking, Retail Banking, SME Banking and Treasury and Market Risks.
