Sonali Jute Mills Ltd- a renowned name in Jute industry was established by Islam Group in the year 1967. Due to the ailment of the founder Chairman Islam Group handed over the mills to the present management. Present Chief Executive of this mill. In the early of 1990 the then government declared some imprudent financial benefits for the workers of Jute industry VIZ, Double gratuity, Double Bonus, Encashment of leaves etc for a political gain. Following implementation of this benefits Jute mills of the country becomes sick as this financial benefits were not in the provision of the Books of accounts from inception of the mills.

Like all other Jute mills Sonali Jute Mills Ltd. becomes sick. After taking over the management of the mills present Chief Executive took some effective and fruitful measures to survive the mills. About 1163 workers/employees were retrenched from service in 1994. Out dated machinery were taken to the program of BMRE. But due to labour unrest in the year 1999 the management compelled to close down the mills. 

In the year 2000 the present management under the leadership of the present Chief Executive again start the mills and by dint of his hard labour and utmost endeavor the mills reaches a viable position 50% machinery were made BMRE by which 50% more production efficiency is achieved through this remodeling of machinery. Balance 50% machinery to be made BMRE and to get diversified production 100% machinery to be remodeling.  To make this program success a big financial help is required.
